       When Manuela Zinsberger expressed her interest to move out of FC Bayern at the end of 2018 -19, Bundesliga. Many worried about the future of FC Bayern’s goalkeeper department. Injury of second goal keeper Laura benkarth was increasing their worries. There were rumors of a new goalkeeper including Chelsea’s Swedish goalkeeper Hedwig Lingdal. Just before the ending of Women’s World Cup in France, on July 1st Bayern announced their surprise package. Carina Schlüter from SC Sand Joined FC Bayern Frauen for a 2 year contract. If they are looking for a long term goal keeper with national team level, it was a perfect and wise transfer for Bayern Munich. On her debut match for Bayern Frauen against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Second round of German cup, she proved the fans hope by her solid performance.

Carina Born in Minden, a small North Rhine Westphalia town In 1996.  She began her football career with her older brother at age 4.  She got football training from SV Weser Letein and played with boys team till 2011. Then she shifted to Westphalen Liga team Arminia Bielefeld. Her high profile performance already noted by Deutscher fussball bund. She got her first national selection to the U17 German team in 2011. Her debut was unhappy, the German team lost to the Austrian U16 team. Then she went to USA.  She spent a year in West side High School in Houston, Texas. However, she decided to continue her education in Germany. She did her High School diploma in DFB Elite School, Kaiserau.    

After her education she joined Second division Bundesliga club VFL Bochum. She played there 23 games and performed well,  but Club was discontinued after that season forced Carina to join Herforder SV. She guarded their goal for 20 matches in a season earned ticket to BundesLiga club SC Sand. Her career saw a turning point there. She debuted with a clean sheet against VFL Wolfs burg. She got world-class training there and this allowed her hopes to national team. Carina guarded U19 German team’s goal in European championship and defeated Sweden in Semifinal. Her Swed-phobia Continued while she played for U20 German team and went down again in Kassel.    

  After 2015 Carina focused on Club football to gain senior team selection. Her days in SC Sand helped her much to compete with other best goalkeepers.  For SC Sand she played 62 matches in three years. She worked hard to regain national team birth and succeeded only in 2018. In a friendly match against Canada She came to pitch after Lisa Schmitz substituted. She did her job well and Germany won the match 3-2. There are difficult competitions going on for goalkeeping position in Germany. Every day new talents joined the race. Carina finds it will be more tough, if she could not move to best bundesliga side. Everything went right. Bayern was reconstructing their team after a record number of players left the team with their coach. They know that to keep their team in higher standard means to get the best players. Their search did not go stray. Their investment in Carina is so clear that she could be their goal guardian for a long time and this could ensure her return to the national team. Carina did not disappoint her new team and fans. Her debut for Bayern came against Eintracht Frankfurt in German cup. She did perfect saves and inspiration to her team. what Bayern need from a goalkeeper is skipper quality. Performance of Carina proves she can be one of them. She knows her days will come soon. A girl from a small German town now reached the biggest club of Germany in a metropolitan city. Fans believe there is nothing impossible for Carina.
